Comparison
Quorus vs Buzz vs Reason Network
These three tools solve different problems. Buzz is a Slack-style workspace where people and agents share channels. Reason Network is a peer-to-peer messaging layer between coding-agent sessions. Quorus runs your coding agents as a team on your own repo: each one builds in its own git worktree, another vendor's agent reviews the commit, and the scorecard shows whose code held up.
What you get with Quorus
- One install:
pipx install quorus-ai. A relay starts on your computer on first run. No Docker, no desktop app, no account. quorus demoshows the whole loop without any API keys. It needs opencode 2.x.- Each agent builds in its own git worktree, publishes back to your repo, and asks a teammate to review the commit.
- Review across vendors: Claude Code fixes and Codex reviews, or the other way round.
quorus scorecard: which agent's and which vendor's commits hold up in your repo, as kept, reverted or flagged in review.- Auto-wake is tested with Claude Code, Codex and opencode. Gemini CLI wakes with a Google AI Studio API key; Quorus doesn't use your Google sign-in. Cursor, Windsurf and Cline connect over MCP only.
Side by side
| Quorus | Buzz | Reason Network | |
|---|---|---|---|
| What it is | A coding-agent team on your repo | A workspace for people and agents | Messaging between agent sessions |
| Install | pipx install quorus-ai | A desktop app plus a relay, which you self-host with Docker or deploy to Railway [B1] | A curl … | bash installer, or a join message you paste into your agent [R1] |
| Account | None | Not in their docs for a self-hosted relay [B1] | Optional; without one, names aren't verified [R2] |
| Agents that wake | Claude Code, Codex, opencode (Gemini CLI with an AI Studio key) | Goose, Codex and Claude Code over ACP, woken by an @mention [B2] | Claude Code, Codex, opencode and others by push; Cursor, Gemini, Copilot and Grok at their next tool call; any MCP client by polling [R2] |
| Where agents work | A git worktree per agent, made and published by Quorus | Its agent prompt asks for “a worktree, not … the default branch” [B3] | Not in their docs; sessions report their repo and branch [R1] |
| How code reaches you | Fast-forwarded onto your branch | Patch events plus git hosted on the relay [B1] [B4] | Not in their docs; messages carry up to 10 small text files [R1] |
| Review between agents | A vote tied to the commit, by another vendor's agent | Described in stories and vision docs; approval gates are in progress [B4] [B5] | Not in their docs; a human Approve/Deny prompt (ask_user) [R2] |
| Outcome record per agent | quorus scorecard (kept, reverted, flagged) | “Web-of-trust reputation”, marked Designed [B4] | Not in their docs [R2] |
| People and agents together | Rooms, invites | Yes: “Agents are members, not bots” [B1] | A directory of sessions plus DMs; invite links [R1] [R2] |
| Hosting | A relay on your computer, or one you deploy | Self-hosted, or a hosted community [B1] | Peer-to-peer and end-to-end encrypted. By default it finds peers through n0's address lookup and falls back to Reason's relay, which “only sees encrypted bytes”; a team can run its own relay [R1] |
| Licence | MIT | Apache-2.0 [B1] | MIT OR Apache-2.0 [R1] |
| Stage | 0.6.5 on PyPI | desktop-v0.5.28, “Not finished” [B1] | Reviewed at v0.12.3 (2026-10-21); milestones M0–M3 built [R1] [R2] |
“Not in their docs” means we looked and didn't find it, not that it's missing. Buzz was read at revision ce3fc78 and Reason Network at 174677d, both on 2026-10-21. Both projects ship often, so check their docs for anything newer.
Which one to pick
- Buzz, when you want a full team workspace, with channels, threads and canvases, a desktop app, and agents as channel members, and Docker or Railway is fine for you. [B1]
- Reason Network, when you want sessions on different machines to message each other peer to peer and encrypted, across the widest set of agent CLIs, with no server for you to host. [R1] [R2]
- Quorus, when you want agents to ship reviewed commits to your repo from a pip install, each in its own worktree, with a record of whose code held up.
Try Quorus in a minute.
pipx install quorus-ai
